Your Privacy
MawaqitGo helps you pray on time. The most personal thing about you — where and when you pray — should stay yours. Here is our promise, in plain language. The full detail is in our Privacy Policy.
What we promise
Your location is used to run the app — never for ads.
To give you official times for where you are, the app sends your coordinates to MawaqitGo's prayer-times service. We use them only to calculate your times — we don't store them, link them to you, or share them with advertisers. It also shows your city name and the Qibla, and tells the app your country (for local announcements and the default Qur'an script). Pick a calculation method yourself, or go offline, and your times are calculated on your phone instead.
We never sell your data.
No data brokers. No location marketplaces. Not now, and not as the app grows.
Your prayer history belongs to you.
Your prayer log, streaks and dhikr live on your device. They only leave it if you sign in and back them up — to your own account — and you can delete that backup and your account whenever you choose.
Ads never sit beside the sacred.
If you ever see an ad, it is family-safe and never placed to disrespect Qur'an or hadith. Upgrading to Premium removes ads completely.
What we never do
- Sell, rent, or trade your personal data
- Give your location or prayer history to advertisers
- Use location data brokers or tracking networks
- Use where or when you pray to target ads
- Force you to create an account to use the app
What we do use — and why
To keep MawaqitGo reliable and free, a few trusted services help out. Here is every one, and nothing more.
- MawaqitGo's own servers (hosted on Cloudflare) — calculate your prayer times from your coordinates, and serve the daily feed, Qur'an audio and the Qur'an translations you choose to download. We keep no record of your coordinates; only area-level results (about a 1 km grid cell) are cached, with no link to you.
- GeoNames and OpenTopoData — when our service meets a new area, it asks them for that spot's timezone and terrain height, using coordinates rounded to about 100 m and nothing that identifies you.
- Your phone's geocoder (Google on Android, Apple on iOS) — turns your coordinates into a city name and handles city searches.
- Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics & Remote Config (Google) — usage events and crash reports so we can fix problems, tied to pseudonymous app and advertising IDs. No names, no account ID, no prayer times or which prayers you pray, no coordinates.
- Firebase Auth & Firestore (Google) — only if you sign in with Google or Apple: creates your optional account and stores your backup (prayer log, dhikr, settings, and any city you chose by hand) so it follows you to a new phone.
- AdMob (Google) — shows the ads that keep the app free for non-subscribers, after asking for consent where required. Uses an advertising ID you can reset in your device settings (on iOS only if you allow tracking). Never your location or prayer data.
- RevenueCat, Google Play & the App Store — handle Premium subscriptions and one-time (lifetime) purchases. We receive whether you're a Premium user, never your card details.
Everything travels over an encrypted connection. The complete, legally-binding detail is in our Privacy Policy.
You're in control
- Location — asked for, never taken. Used only for your prayer times, city and Qibla, and revocable in your phone settings at any time — you can set a city by hand instead.
- Notifications — your choice. Nothing arrives until you allow notifications. Once you do, the adhan is on for each prayer, and you can change its sound or switch it and any reminder off in Settings.
- Your data — back it up to your own account, or delete your account from inside the app. That removes your account, your backup and feedback linked to it from our servers and wipes the app on your phone; pseudonymous analytics and purchase records are kept as Google, RevenueCat and the law require.
